Viking Air breaks through in Peru

Despite strong interest from the Peruvian government, the direct sales approach attempted by Viking Air Ltd. (Sidney, British Columbia) did not align with the country’s complex procurement regulations.

With CCC’s government to government contracting, Viking was able to sign a contract in weeks — after years of pursuit — to supply its Twin Otter aircraft to Peru’s Ministry of Defence.

Viking’s success in 2010 prompted the Ministry to contact CCC to explore new opportunities for improving Peru's defence and security infrastructure, resulting in a memorandum of understanding that makes it easier for Peru to acquire Canadian military equipment and services.

The Canadian Commercial Corporation (CCC) offers commercial advocacy, collaborative project development and foreign contracting expertise to help Canadian exporters secure international contracts with government buyers around the world.

For Canadian exporters looking to sell to foreign government buyers, our government to government contracting approach improves access to senior procurement decision-makers, enhances proposal credibility, accelerates the procurement process, and reduces contract and payment risk.
